Nation of Shopkeepers Event

Event Organisation at Nation of Shopkeepers

Proposal

Live audio visual night, on last thursday of every month.

Rationale:
(Why are you doing it? How does it fit with your own sense of development? What is your particular interest in this area?)

Interest in event organisation, networking and live art. Curation of live exhibition and development of my own music practice.

Context:
(Where does the project fit in the real world?)

Live night of art and music and city centre venue.

Brief:
(What exactly are you/is somebody else expecting you to do?)

Create an event that bring people to venue, set up stage for live art, create branding.

Audience
(Who is the work for)

Potential audience at Nation of Shopkeepers, other artists', people with interest in art and music, people that enjoy going out/partying.

Outcomes:
(What exactly will you have, or will have happened, at the end of your project?)

Regular event at Nation of Shopkeepers, organised and delivered by us. Blank canvas, platform for artists to create live work on. Successful online branding.

Measures of success/evaluation strategy:
(How will you know how successful you have been? You can’t evaluate effectively unless you know what your aims were.)

Busy night with regular attendees, well organised night ie. budget/money wise as well as overall feedback.

Research:
(What do you need to find out to help you deliver the project?)

Stage measurements, requirements for projectors, flyer costs, how to use software such as dreamweaver for website, DJ set up at Nation of Shopkeepers, budget for night, best materials for projecting onto...

Why is it live?
(How does it meet the live requirement of the brief?)

Live night with public audience at Nation of Shopkeepers, working for venue.

Resources:
(What will you need at every step of the project? Physical space/people/hardware/software/money/transport are all resources to plan for.)

Working projectors, various adobe software, cameras, materials for projections, Rane Serato software, VLC, work as collaborative effort/practice stage set ups using studio space as well as venue.
